Evan Thomas Byron is a highly experienced attorney based in Cleveland, Ohio, specializing in litigation and transactional law. Born on May 25, 1980, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Evan spent his childhood in Carmel, Indiana. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in History, with a minor in Spanish, from Indiana University Purdue University in Indianapolis in 2002. Evan was named to The National Dean's List during his undergraduate years and was involved in the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity’s Finance Committee. His academic achievements and early leadership roles laid the foundation for his future career in law. Evan went on to earn his Juris Doctor degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in Cleveland in 2006. While at Case Western, he was a Jonathan M. Ault Mock Trial Team member and served as Vice President of the Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity. He was also recognized on the Dean's List for his academic excellence.

After completing law school, Evan Byron, a Cleveland lawyer, began his professional career at Kaufman, Drozdowski & Grendell, LLC in Cleveland. He worked on various legal matters, including business disputes, bankruptcy, real estate transactions, and probate law. Over time, Evan expanded his expertise to include transactional law, handling mergers and acquisitions, real estate deals, and business general counsel services. His commitment and skill earned him a promotion to partner in 2017. Before joining Kaufman, Drozdowski & Grendell, Evan worked as Of Counsel at Lieberman, Dvorin & Dowd, LLC, focusing on business and commercial litigation, creditors’ rights, and real estate law.

Evan also spent several years as a non-equity partner at Chernett Wasserman, LLC, from 2009 to 2016. In this role, he oversaw the firm’s litigation practice, managing cases involving commercial disputes, real estate, bankruptcy, leasing, and employment law. His ability to manage a large caseload, often handling over fifty active litigation matters at once, was essential to the firm’s continued success.

In 2025, Evan founded Byron Legal, LLC, to create a law firm that combines litigation expertise with a strategic focus on transactional law. As the managing partner, Evan has built a talented team that handles legal challenges across multiple practice areas, providing comprehensive services to businesses and individuals. The firm offers various services, including litigation, mergers and acquisitions, real estate transactions, and general counsel support.

Throughout his career, Evan has achieved several significant legal victories. One of his most notable accomplishments came in 2010 when he successfully argued a case before the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, securing a $15.6 million verdict for his client. In 2016, Evan won another major trial, further cementing his reputation as a skilled litigator. He is licensed to practice in Ohio and has been admitted to several federal courts, including the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and the United States District Courts for both the Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio.

Beyond his legal practice, Evan is committed to his professional community and local organizations. He has been a member of the Ohio State Bar Association and the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association since 2006. Evan has served on the Executive Council of the Young Lawyers Section and the Membership Committee within the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association. He has also volunteered as a high school mock trial instructor and contributed to the Task Force on Judicial Excellence, demonstrating his dedication to mentoring the next generation of legal professionals.

Evan is also a board member of the Cuyahoga County Debarment Review Board, where he has served since 2013. He is also an active member of the Cleveland Racquet Club, where he enjoys tennis, a sport he has enjoyed for many years.

Outside of his professional life, Evan is passionate about animal welfare. He is involved in local animal rescue initiatives, particularly those focused on helping dogs.
